Protect Yourself from Those Annoying Promotional/Spam Emails and Chill with Free Audiobooks
#15 Join my Subscriber Chat: A private space for us to converse and connect
No small talk this time, let’s dive right into some useful stuff! 😁
Temp Mail
I have been using temporary email services for a while now to protect myself from unwanted emails due to privacy and security reasons. There are several websites which offer this, one of which is Temp Email. This website provides a temporary email which you can use to log in to those sites which require a sign-up just to view or download something. This site even generates a temporary Inbox for that email to get the OTP or click on an activation link. If you wanna save a few seconds and want to have the email id with just a click, Temp Mail offers a free chrome extension which auto-generates a new email id and its inbox every time you click on it.
LibriVox
One of our subscribers suggested this website after reading the last article: 5 Fun and Useful Websites You Must Visit. LibriVox is a website with free audiobooks which you can either stream or download and listen to via your favourite app on the go. Founded by Hugh McGuire in August 2005, this site contains free public domain titles read by volunteers across the globe. If you are an audiobook lover, this is a gold mine for you. Thank you Blake for this wonderful suggestion!
Selectext
As the name suggests, you can copy text from a video online using this extension. This is extremely useful with note-taking if you are learning something online.
Let’s Chat!
Substack announced a new feature called Subscriber Chat last week aiming for better community engagement. I’m planning to start an AMA (Ask Me Anything) thread/chat where in I’ll answer all of your questions either as a small section in each of the upcoming articles or as a dedicated post every now and then, based on the volume.
This is a conversation space in the Substack app that I set up exclusively for my subscribers — kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll post short prompts, thoughts, and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion.
To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app (messages are sent via the app, not email). Turn on push notifications so you don’t miss a chance to join a conversation as it happens.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Chat is only on iOS for now, but chat is coming to the Android app soon.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
I’ve already started my first chat thread so come on over and say hello! 👋🏼
Still here? Why not like and share this with your friends and family? Thank you so much for reading. Keep smiling, stay safe and take care! 😊
